Bergh Apton is a lovely village situated in South Norfolk on a branch of the River Yare.
In the Saxon Norman times, it used to be two villages, one of the villages was called Bergh which meant hill or mound and the other village was called Apton which probably meant a farm.
Bergh Apton is just 7 miles South East of Norwich making it easy to get into the city. It's good to get a quick fix from the hustle and bustle of city life with its bars, restaurants and shops and then head back to Bergh Apton for a bit of tranquillity. Beach life is only thirty minutes away in a car, so when you want the sand between your toes just grab your beach towel and sun cream and off you go!
